Allison Davis
Allison is a Senior Associate at Trindade Farr & Pill. Allison was admitted to practise in April 2006 after successfully completing her Articles of Clerkship with Trindade Farr & Pill.
Allison has gained experience in all areas of workplace relations law including industrial relations issues, discrimination and harassment, contracts of employment, occupational health and safety, and unfair dismissals.
Allison has developed a particular expertise in managing compliance with industrial instruments and assisting clients to quantify labour cost in tendering and payroll processes.
Skills and Experience:
Allison has been involved in a broad range of workplace matters which include:
- Advising in relation to enterprise agreements including on compliance with industrial legislation and Government Codes and Guidelines.
- Appearing in Fair Work Australia and its predecessor the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and successfully obtaining orders for the extension and variation of certified agreements.
- Defending sexual harassment claims in the Victorian Civil & Administrative Tribunal.
- Conducting litigation in a range of State and Federal courts.
- Successfully obtaining an order for substituted service in the Federal Magistrates' Court of Australia.
- Providing advice on the impact of the Fair Work Act and Work Choices amendments to the Workplace Relations Act and subsequent legislative changes.
- Advising in relation to transitioning payroll systems to reflect modern award entitlements, including detailed interpretations of modern awards and the transitional arrangements.
- Conducting unfair dismissal matters in Fair Work Australia and its predecessor the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.
- Drafting a broad range of employment and industrial documents, including Company policies, employment contracts, enterprise agreements and contractor agreements.
- Conducting a workplace relations and independent contractor audit for a sales outsourcing and consultancy company.
- Preparing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System for a large company in the building and construction industry.
- Conducting wage drift interpretations of industrial instruments.
- Advising in relation to the implementation of a new payroll system for a major Australian employer including interpretation of awards, agreements and other industrial instruments.
